Asian-Style Baked Tofu

Prep Time: 30 min.
Cook Time: 30-45 min.
Ingredients
1 clove Garlic, minced
2 tablespoons Onions, finely minced
2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
2 tablespoons Sesame Oil
12 oz. Tofu, firm
1 tablespoon Vinegar - Rice
1 teaspoon Ginger, freshly grated or dried
to taste Chili Paste
1 tablespoon Mirin (Japanese Sweet Wine), any rice wine will do

Cooking Directions


1. Remove excess water form the tofu by pressing it between two plates weighted down with a heavy object for about 30 minutes. Halfway through, empty the plate of water and flip the tofu over.
2. After tofu is pressed, cut into cubes or triangles.
3. Whisk all other ingredients together to make the marinade.
4. Put tofu in a baking dish and pour the marinade over.
5. Marinate tofu overnight in the fridge or prepare right away.
6. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
7. Bake tofu for 30-45 minutes, or until all the liquid is absorbed and the tofu begins to turn brown.
