Servings: 8
Prep Time: 5-10 Minutes
Cook Time: 15-20 Minutes
Ingredients
4 Tablespoons Butter, cold, cut into small pieces
3/4 teaspoon Seasoning - Salt
2 Cups Flour - All Purpose
1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 Teaspoon Seasoning - Thyme (Ground)
1 Cup Buttermilk

Cooking Directions

1. Preheat oven to 425F degrees.

2. In a large bowl, combine flour, thyme, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.

3. Using a fork, pastry blender, or your fingers, incorporate butter into flour mixture until mixture resembles coarse meal.

4. Mix in buttermilk until a sticky dough forms; you may need to add up to 1 tablespoon more buttermilk.

5. Drop 8 mounds (about 1/3 cup each) onto a nonstick baking sheet; lightly pat tops to flatten slightly.

6. Bake until golden brown, 15 to 20 minutes, rotating sheet halfway through. 7. Transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly. Serve warm.

I'm an amature cook, but these tasted like cardboard. I'm not sure why, either. They were hard on the outside but the right consistency on the inside. I would suggest brushing with buttermilk before going in the oven...that might make a smidge of a difference.
