It’s that time of year, BBQ Season! Try these delicious and easy to make turkey burgers on your grill. Most of the ingredients you already have, so you can make them tonight. Easy to follow cooking directions and moist turkey burger patties will guarantee this will be a family favorite for years to come.

Cherry Oatmeal Muffins

Ingredients
1 Eggs, slightly beaten
1 Cup Flour - All Purpose
2 Tablespons Sugar - White
1 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil
1/2 Cup Sugar - Brown
1 Cup (old-fashioned or quick cooking oats,) Oatmeal
1/4 Teaspoon (ground) Seasoning - Nutmeg
1 cup Cherries, frozen, chopped
1 Teaspoon Almond Extract
3/4 c Butter Milk Buttermilk

Cooking Directions


1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Put oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder and nutmeg in a large mixing bowl; mix well.

2. Combine buttermilk, egg, oil, and almond extract in a small bowl.

3. Pour buttermilk mixture into oats mixture; stir just to moisten ingredients. Quickly stir in cherries (it is not necessary to thaw cherries before chopping and adding to batter.)

4. Spray muffin pan with non-stick spray. Fill muffin-cups 2/3 full.

Sprinkle with granulated sugar. Bake in oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown.

I used vanilla as I couldn't find the almond extract (I found it in my cupboard later). My boys loved them and ate as many as I would let them. Nice and moist on the inside with a sweet, crunchy, sugary topping.
