Classic Brown Sauce Stir Fry

Ingredients
1/2 cup Chicken Broth
1/4 cup Water
1 tablespoon Garlic, minced
3 1/2 tablespoons Sugar - Brown
2/3 cup Soy Sauce
1/4 teaspoon Seasoning - White Pepper
2 tablespoons Cornstarch
1 tablespoon Sesame Oil
1 tablespoon Ginger, freshly grated or dried
1/3 cup Mirin (Japanese Sweet Wine), any rice wine will do
2 tablespoons Canola Oil

Cooking Directions


1. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, chicken broth, rice wine, brown sugar, sesame oil, and white pepper.
2. Dissolve the cornstarch in the water.
3. Heat the oil in a pan over high heat.
4. Add the garlic and ginger and stir for about 15 seconds or until fragrant.
5. Add the soy sauce/chicken broth mixture and bring to a boil.
6. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 1 minute.
7. Add the cornstarch/water mixture and stir until the sauce boils and thickens.
