Servings: 24
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cook Time: 10 Minutes
Ingredients
1/4 teaspoon Seasoning - Salt
3/4 teaspoon Seasoning - Cinnamon
1 Tablespoon Water
1 Eggs
2 1/4 Cups Flour - All Purpose
1 Cup Sugar - White
2 Tablespoons Sugar - White
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
3/4 Cup, softened Margarine
2 Teaspoons Seasoning - Ginger
1/2 Teaspoon Seasoning - Cloves (Ground)
1/4 cup Molasses

Cooking Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Sift together the flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. Set aside.

2. In a large bowl, cream together the margarine and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, then stir in the water and molasses. Gradually stir the sifted ingredients into the molasses mixture. Shape dough into walnut sized balls, and roll them in the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar. Place the cookies 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet, and flatten slightly.

3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.

These cookies are absolutely delicious! There's just the right amount of molasses to give them a little extra bite. Just a couple of things that may make it a little easier on the next person: I would suggest either refrigerating the dough for about 10 minutes, or just let them sit out for a while before trying to roll them into balls, and even in the sugar. The dough is very sticky. I found it much easier to just spoon them onto the cookie sheet and then sprinkle the sugar on top of them.

Also, I got about 3 dozen two-bite cookies out of the recipe. And as flavorful as they are, about two bites is all you'll need in a cookie.

Definitely recommend this recipe!
