Homemade Chantico

Servings: 2
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cook Time: n/a
Ingredients
2 Tablespoons Butter, optional
pinch Seasoning - Salt
3/4 cup Water
8 Tablespoons (heaping) Sugar - White
2 Teaspoon Cornstarch
3 Tablespoons (heaping) Cocoa Powder

Cooking Directions

1. Heat the water to near boiling. Reduce heat to medium.

2. Add the cocoa and the sugar. Stir with a whisk for about 5 minutes to really dissolve the coco powder.

3. In a separate bowl, add 1 tablespoon water to cornstarch and mix until completely dissolved. (If you don't, you'll get some nasty clumps.)

4. Add the cornstarch mix to the cocoa/sugar mix and whisk briskly. After a minute or so you should have a smooth velvety yummy drink!

5. For more flavor, add the salt and butter. It will thicken a bit as it cools, so add just a wee bit of hot water to thin it out again. The result is a very rich dark sweet cocoa.
