Spicy Arrabiata Sauce

Servings 4-6 Prep Time Cook Time


1-2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
to taste Seasoning - Salt
1/2 Tablespoon Seasoning - Black Pepper
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
2 Tablespoons Tomato Paste
1-2 teaspoons Seasoning - Red Pepper Flakes
handful Parsley
3 cloves Garlic, minced
1 Onions, chopped
1 Tablespoon Sugar - White
Handful, fresh, chopped into ribbons Basil
3/4 Cup Wine - Red
1 (28 oz) can Tomatoes - Canned (crushed)


1. Heat olive oil in medium saucepan over medium heat.

2. Saute garlic and onions for 5 minutes. Then add black pepper (use more if you prefer increased spiciness), sugar, tomato paste, lemon juice, red wine, crushed tomatoes and crushed red pepper flakes (everything except the basil, parsley and salt).

3. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 30 minutes.

4. Add the basil and the parsley. Add salt to taste. Pulse with a hand-held blender if you like more consistency as opposed to chunky.

Tastes great on penne pasta or as a dip with bread!
