Traditional Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

1/4 cup Butter
3/4 teaspoon Seasoning - Salt
To Taste Seasoning - Black Pepper
1/2 cup warm Milk
6 Potatoes

Instructions

Place potatoes in a saucepan and cover with water. Cover and bring to a boil; cook for 20-25 minutes or until very tender. Drain well. Add milk, butter, salt and pepper; mash until light and fluffy.

simple enough. but why not bake your potatoes (skin in and all)... and THEN mash. It prevents the potatoe from losing all its flavour in the water. TRY IT!!!

tastes great, very simple, and I almost always have these ingredients in the house. We all love mashed potatoes. Note to self: try mbali's suggestion of baking next time to see if there's a difference. ^^

I have made my mashed potatoes like this for years now but instead of warm milk I use half a can of evaporated milk because it makes it more smooth and also if you do not want the lumps you can also add chicken broth. It gives it more flavor as well.
